Brief Introduction:
What is konjac?
The konjac plant (Amorphophallus konjac) grows in slopes 2000 to 4000 ft above sea
level, where it enjoys the habitat’s clean air and water. Konjac is
a kind of perennial herbage plant with low energy, low protein and
high fiber. Glucomannan is the main component of konjac.
Glucomannan is a water-soluble polysaccharide that is considered a dietary
fiber.
It is a hemicellulose component in the cell walls of some plant
species. Glucomannan is a food additive used as an emulsifier and
thickener. Glucomannan for the purposes of appetite reduction,
weight management, treatment of constipation and management of high
cholesterol levels.
